Volunteers Donate $50,000 to the Howard Young Foundation
The Partners – Auxiliary, Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital, through its fundraising efforts, donated $50,000 to the Howard Young Foundation "Our Legacy Campaign" on August 18, 2015. The donation will benefit heart care services in northern Wisconsin, and health and wellness related services at Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital (MERMH). The check was presented to Mike Gibbons, president, Howard Young Foundation, Inc., during the Partners monthly meeting.
As part of the Howard Young Foundation’s "Our Legacy" campaign, every gift made during the campaign, was quadrupled in value, thanks to the extreme generosity of Donald E. Funk, an Extraordinary Benefactor of the Foundation and Ministry Health Care. That means the Howard Young Foundation will receive $200,000, thanks to the Partners. The campaign supports the One Heart Cardiology Suite located inside Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, which benefits heart care patients in the Eagle River community and beyond.
The Partners are dedicated volunteers who donate their valuable personal time at the hospital by raising money through sales at the Hospital Gift Shop inside MERMH, and the Auxiliary Thrift Shop, located at 209 East Pine Street in Eagle River. Volunteer opportunities are available by contacting Pam Berdal at 715.479.0327.
"The Partners are honored to know our volunteer efforts will benefit important heart care services in northern Wisconsin," said Partners Co-President, Pam Cira. "Our members volunteered 14,580 hours of service in 2014, and are excited that we are making a positive impact on healthcare in the communities our hospital serves."
"We truly appreciate the dedication of the Partners – Auxiliary to support Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital and healthcare," said Howard Young Foundation President, Mike Gibbons. "The Our Legacy Campaign will allow the Foundation to enhance heart care services in northern Wisconsin and we also look forward to supporting the needs of Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital."
